Honest information
Jewelry & skin care
What our pieces are made of, why skin reacts the way it does, and how to keep your jewelry looking its best.
Why some jewelry reacts with skin
Green marks are a reaction between skin and the metals underneath a gold finish. Whether it happens depends on the piece and its composition, how it is cared for, and your own skin chemistry — which is why the same pair of earrings can be fine on one person and not on another.
What gold laminated means
Our gold pieces are 14K and 18K gold laminated, not simply gold plated. Gold laminated jewelry is designed to provide a beautiful gold finish with greater durability than standard gold plating. It is not solid gold, and we would never describe it that way.
What .925 sterling silver means
Made with 92.5% pure silver, the standard for sterling silver. It naturally darkens over time. That is real silver behaving normally, and occasional polishing preserves its shine.
How to care for both
- Put jewelry on after perfume, lotion, and hairspray.
- Remove it before swimming, long workouts, and cleaning with harsh chemicals.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water and sweat.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth and store it in the pouch it came in.
